NFL Predictions '08 Consistency Ratings

October 24, 2008 by keystonekid

To use these ratings, click the links in header on that page, ex. PF ,(points for), to list in order. The higher the number the better the team's consistency record this year is.

Example: If Buffalo at home has a consistency rating of 100 for PF, that means they have score the same points every game at home. If it is low like 45, then they may have scored a wide range, ex. 7, 23, 40, 30.

These are hard to use. What you are trying to do is find teams that are consistent, and compare it with the NFL Predictions '08 pick. I like to use these for the Over/Unders. Ex. Carolina has a 95 for it's home total that averages 35pts. The prediction is 39pts. The odds are 43, so you would have a good chance on the Under. Below are the links to the page that will open in a new window.

MY SBR TV show

October 9, 2008 by keystonekid

Well I was going to do a live call-in Internet Talk show, but it is on hold until I can make it easy for you to use. So, I decided to grab a cheap web cam and do a tv show. I hope to do daily pre-recorded videos predicting up coming game outcomes. Be sure to check it out. I have been doing pretty good on picks this year so maybe it will help you out.

I will still work on getting the live talk show on too.

Different methods of making picks

October 4, 2008 by keystonekid

I have been handicapping the NFL and Horse Racing for a long time. With the horses I use the Past Performances. I started out using the racing programs at the track with no prevail because they do not have much to go on. Then I started using the Daily Racing Form and getting better results because of the extra info it has. Now I use Brisnet Past Performances great results because they have better info. The problem I have is the length of time it takes to make selections per race. I could spend up to an hour per race highlighting and review the data. And, with 10 races per card, it became a lost cause. Then, I came across computer handicapping software, Horse Play. The program basically does what I did manually but can do a race in about15 seconds, and a 10 race card in about 30 minutes. This software does not make any picks, I still have to make that call. I do real well on the exacta's, but it is hard to get a good return on your money.

For the NFL it is about the same story. I would use sites that created indexes like The Dunkel Index and handicapper sites like National Sports Monitor and Sports Forums like this one. But still spent a lot of time looking at games. I have been using handicapping software for the last few years, Mr NFL and NFL Predictions that uses some formula that works pretty well, above average if you just use it's picks only. I still look at the games to see if there could be something to add/subtract. Like the Horse program, this one predicts within a second and gives team data to look at. Instead of looking at a few games, I can look at all the games without spending a lot of time. I have always been on a winning average using computer handicapping software.

If you are looking for other alternatives check out handicapping software.

If you get it to run, enter my Host id: 2001. Today I want to see if it works. I have music playing right now. See if you can get it. If you can, click the Fast Blast button on the player and send me an instant message on how it works. Thanks. I hope to have the first show on Friday Sept, 26th.
